Resistors

We produce two basic types of resistors: power wire and high ohmic.

Resistors TESLA

The offer includes three basic series of TESLA resistors. These are wire resistors in an aluminum case - TR31x, TR33x and TR35x series, cemented wire resistors - TR26x and TR30x series and thick-film high-ohm resistors - 3WK 608 0x series. The range is further expanded with various variants and modifications responding to increased requirements regarding power load, pulse overload capability, ohmic value, degree of coverage or price/performance ratio.

These flat high voltage resistors are low inductance, stable and accurate passive components.

Pracovník

Resistors in aluminium case are UL-certified high-performance wire resistors with protection IP54 and higher. They are resistant to short circuits and, thanks to their compact shape, offer a wide range of applications. The chosen design guarantees their maximum impulse stability and at the same time a high nominal continuous power. All materials are non-flammable. Resistors with custom designs and in various assembly combinations are available upon request.

Construction of resistor in an aluminum case

  1. Aluminum housing ensures fast heat dissipation from the resistor. The case does not corrode, is not magnetic, is light and at the same time mechanically resistant.
  2. Silica sand with excellent electrical insulating properties fills the space between the resistance winding, ceramic and housing. It increases the mechanical resistance of the resistor and optimizes the heat dissipation from the body of the resistor.
  3. Ceramic beam with high mechanical strength, electrical insulation and thermal shock resistance provides maximum protection and insulation to the resistance winding.
  4. Resistor winding with high operating temperature and high melting temperature guarantees high pulse load of the resistor.
  5. Hydrophobic cement mixture reliably protects the internal parts of the resistor.
  6. Brass coupling ensures a perfect connection of the resistance winding with the terminals of the resistor.
  7. Flexible electrical conductors of various types and materials are used for reliable connection of resistors even in demanding conditions.

Aluminum cases

TESLA offers four standard aluminum case shapes. These cases can be further adjusted - especially according to the application and the size of the space for installation. Additional mounting and mounting holes can be drilled on the housings, threads and grooves can be milled, or by riveting or screwing an additional metal cover, increase the degree of protection of the internal part of the resistor.

mal3

Thermoswitches

Temperature is very important for power resistors. If the internal or external parts of the resistor become too hot, a malfunction may occur. For continuous temperature monitoring, we offer the option of fitting a resistor with a thermoswitch. A thermoswitch with a defined temperature can be placed either directly in the cement grout or as an external thermoswitch on an aluminum housing.

mal1

Output pins

The 30 cm long out pins offered as a standard are made of high-temperature material rated for temperatures up to 250 °C. However, there are also conductors made of other materials, conductors with non-standard lengths and with different types of terminations (contacts, connectors, terminal blocks). Wires can be fitted with fuses or other structural elements.

To achieve maximum heat dissipation from the resistor, we recommend that the resistors are properly mounted on a sufficiently large cooling plate. Heat transfer can be further improved by applying thermal paste between the aluminum resistor case and the board.

When choosing a resistor, focus not only on the electrical parameters but also on the quality of the mechanical assembly - housing, terminals and thermoswitch.

Do you know, that...

The cemented resistors are resistant to vibrations and strong shocks? In addition to their robust construction, correct attachment is key to the long life and functionality of resistors. Resistors can be mounted horizontally or vertically according to their size and installation space. They can be placed inside the device or outside, again with regard to their construction and the chosen type of holder. In the event of a request for a special attachment, it is possible to prepare a precisely tailored solution.

Electric contact between the resistor and another part of the device is very important? There is usually a large current load and any transient resistance has an effect on the heating of the environment. Resistors can mainly be connected using screws or standardized connectors. The size and shape of the terminals are optimized according to the type of resistor and its current carrying capacity.

Science, engineering, automation technology, energy, transport, logistics and other fields use TESLA resistors in their devices? There are many other fields that cannot even be listed.

Le we use different types of outlets that are optimized for expected power dissipation? do we use different types of outlets that are optimized for the expected power loss? Resistors can mainly be connected using screws or standardized connectors.

Datasheet

High-ohmic resistors are flat thick-film high-voltage resistors that perfectly meet all requirements for low-inductance, stable and precise passive components. These resistors are very easy to mount on printed circuit boards. Resistors are able to regulate very high voltages, especially in measuring devices. They provide an easy and cost-effective method of measurement and regulation.

High ohmic resistor construction

  1. Wire outlets
  2. Epoxy coating (optional)
  3. Dielectric cover - glass layer
  4. Resistance track
  5. Ceramic 96% Al2O3

We offer resistors in two basic designs with surface coating with epoxy coating or only with coating with a glass dialectic layer. Our offer ranges from standard products to products that have been modified exactly according to customer requirements.

TESLA's high-ohmicresistors are very resistant to the external environment. They can be used in insulating oils, SF6, silicone and all resin-based casting materials.
